Strata House
Aspen, Colorado
Modern Contemporary
Single-Family Residence
About
This 5,662 square foot three-story single-family home is a new build nestled into 0.60 acres of steep hillside. The mountain contemporary design consists of architecture and interior design in collaboration with Karen White Interior Design and showcases uninterrupted views of Aspen Mountain as its inspiration. The light and airy color palette paired with natural materials provides both warmth and contemporary sophistication.
The 4-bedroom, 4-bath/2-powder room home includes a temperature-controlled wine room, elevator, large metal-clad fireplace, an entertainer’s dream kitchen and living room, open floor plan, 3 decks, 2 patios, hot tub, and more. As the name suggests, Strata House’s levels layer on top of each other, offering south-facing views from nearly every room. The exterior compliments the interior through use of various materials, such as engineered wood plank floors, white grad limestone, steel beams, and glass. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and sliding glass doors provide picturesque views and open both the south and west sides of the living room/kitchen to the outdoors.
Every detail is designed with intention, from the glass and steel staircase located in the center of the home as an architectural feature, to the wood roof soffits extension from the interior to the exterior drawing the eye outside.
