Construction Updates – Five Roaring Fork Valley Projects In-Progress
Updated: Jan 26, 2022
This past June, we shared construction updates on four projects that are currently in-progress. This month, we update on their progress and share a fifth project under construction. If you haven’t read our June construction update blog, check it out here to see the photos and get a sense of the progression.
Last time we discussed Strata House, located in Aspen’s west-end, it was nothing more than a foundation. Now, the framing and structural steel is going up. The form of the home can be seen with each of its 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 powder rooms, den, elevator, and entertainment spaces. One more floor needs to be added, which will bring our total to a rather lofty 5850 square feet. Learn more on our project page and keep an eye on our social media for more updates. In the past, we referred to the Hayes House, located in Aspen’s east-end, as the Bleeker Street Renovation. For the better part of the summer, the historic Hayes Victorian was rolled toward the street to allow for the lower level to be dug out and foundations to be poured. Now, the lower level has been framed and covered. More excitingly was when Steeplechase Construction rolled the historic Victorian on its temporary tracks to its permanent location. Check out our Instagram page to see video. The Hayes House is a duplex with the “Cabin”, Unit A, consisting of 2 bedroom, 2 baths, 2 powder rooms, and a large downstairs entertaining space. Unit B sits behind the historic Victorian with 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, 2 powder rooms, and a large lower level entertaining space. Learn more on our project page.
In Carbondale, the Sopris Lodge Assisted Living Campus is progressing swiftly. Building B, a 2-story nearly 33,000 square foot memory care and assisted living facility, has completed framing and framing on Building A, a 2-story wing-shaped 33,243 square foot independent living facility, has begun. We have a great drone video that shows the state of the project from mid-September. Expect to see another coming later this month. Learn more about this project from our May 2019 blog “The Sopris Lodge Discovery Series: Introduction http://www.zgrouparchitects.com/the-sopris-lodge-discovery-series-introduction/and the project page http://www.zgrouparchitects.com/portfolio/sopris_lodge/.
Also, in June, we introduced the new Buffalo Valley Apartments project. Using prefabricated framing components, these apartments will be up in no time. Building B, nearest the Roaring Fork River, is nearly completely framed. Framing on Building A is expected to begin soon. Have a look at this construction update drone video shot late last month. We are going be revisiting the Buffalo Valley Apartments later this month for another drone shoot.
Lastly, we would like to introduce a new residence nestled in the Castle Creek Valley. This property will total 8,750 square feet with 7 bedrooms, 6 and 2 half baths, a golf simulator room, gym, and ample entertaining spaces both indoor and out. Framing is currently underway. We will also be producing a drone video on this project later this month.
We are thrilled with all the amazing projects currently in the works. Everything is on track and progressing smoothly. As winter quickly approaches, we will be working on interior finishes. If you want to follow these project’s journeys, please follow us on social media!
