Born and raised in Rifle, Colorado, Randy moved back to his roots in 1997 with his wife after four years of military enlistment and 7 years of Architecture school. He joined Z Group Architects in 2014 and became a Principal in 2020. Randy has over 29 years of diverse experience, with 25 years focused in the Roaring Fork Valley and Western Colorado, and has a passion to preserve the uniqueness of The Roaring Fork Valley and tackle this special place’s abundant challenges.
Randy has worked on multiple project types, including residential, government, institutional, educational, hospitality, recreation, healthcare, religious, detention, retail, and manufacturing. His primary role at Z Group is production and project management with a strong aspect of navigating and moving a project through the complex matrix of design goals, budget, codes & jurisdictional issues, drawing and document production, client relations, schedule, and contractor coordination.
In his free time, Randy enjoys exploring the great outdoors through biking, bike camping, motorcycle camping, RV travel, car camping, and cross-country skiing with family and friends. He loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, eight grandchildren, dogs, and other family. Randy is also an artist with over 70 large mural installations up and down the East Coast of the United States.
